• Full Name: Joseph R. Wallace
• Celestial/True Name: -
• Nickname(s): Joey
• Gender: male
• Species: Nephilim
• House/Order & Faction: Scholar
• PB: (Played By): Chris Zylka
• Character Age and DOB: 24/ March 15, 1988
• Appearance: Joey is tall, about 6’3”, nicely muscled, blond-haired and blue-eyed. He’s a handsome young man and most would never know he was a Nephilim, unless they saw the slight glow that emanated from him when he used his healing powers, being the son of a Raphaelite, or perhaps, if they ran their fingers through his soft blond hair and came away with one of the downy under-feathers there. Another thing that is immediately noticeable about Joey is his large hands and long fingers, which actually serve him quite well in his chosen profession.
Personality: At times it seems that Joey’s heart could eclipse the sun itself. His great empathy and compassion have been the ruling forces in his life. He loves people, loves conversation, culture, laughing, love and fun. Joey doesn’t like to think he hates anything, but if there were anything to fall under his list of hated things, it would be cruelty, neglect, ignorance, intolerance, greed…well, in the world today, the list could be too depressing. Anyone who meets and talks to Joey, comes away feeling special, because that’s how he makes everyone feel; he actually does feel everyone is special. He looks you in the eyes, he listens and he’s interested.
His personality combined with the power he inherited from his mother, set Joey on the path of a medical career.
History: Beware the Ides of March! That certainly doesn’t apply here, because, on March 15th, Penelope, an angel, and her husband, Jake Wallace, welcomed into the world, in 1988, their son, Joseph Wallace.
With Joey’s human father being the county coroner and his mother, a Raphaelite angel and a doctor specializing in emergency medicine, it was no wonder that the boy, a nephilim, steered himself towards a career in medicine.
Growing up, Joey’s healing powers were first noticed on injured pets and once on a cut his father received in the kitchen. His parents noticed how compassionate he was with them, with his friends and with the family pets. He cared about others. He wanted to help…so they helped him. He was an exceptionally bright child and his parents tutored him at home, aside from his studies at school; they schooled him in medical practices and theories….anatomy, biology, chemistry, etc. Joey was an eager student and absorbed everything they gave him.
Joey skipped a grade in school and graduated at 16 years of age and went directly to college. He started his three years of pre-med in the local college and then moved on to medical school and his first year of internship and residency at Mercy Hospital, where he specialized in emergency medicine, like his mother.
After Joey’s four required years of residency, Dr. Joseph Wallace, instead of taking a job at Mercy Hospital or one of the other reputable hospitals, gave his services to The Bon Secours Doctors' Volunteer Clinic. He was paid just enough, by the county, to get by from week to week, but he was happy and fulfilled. Joey was the clinic's one full time doctor and the office manager, with that hodge podge of duties. He worked well with the many doctors who volunteered at the clinic, including his own mom, and he tirelessly coordinated fundraisers to keep the clinic running smoothly.
The ad for the free clinic read as follows:
The Bon Secours Doctors' Volunteer Clinic is a private, non-profit, community-based health care clinic operating solely on donations and grants.
Our mission is to provide quality medical care with respect, commitment and compassion to the children and adults in our community who are uninsured, homeless, or living in poverty.
Our vision is to provide access to quality health care and preventative education as we assist our patients with the management of their health care needs.
Joey was able to afford one of the lower priced two-bedroom homes on Inferno Row, his groceries and a small amount for entertainment each week. Joey’s needs were few; helping others and visiting family and friends fulfilled him. He is greatly loved at the clinic by staff and patients alike.
The one thing missing in Joey’s life is a significant other, but he is definitely open to let someone in.
